Here’s your cheat sheet for DRK by WEST. Some of you may have another beer, called G40, instead. I’ve done a separate cheat sheet for that. I don’t know much about this brewery but they seem to concentrate on German beer styles, which immediately gives them some bonus points if you ask me.

Serving temperature
Serve this beer between 7°C and 10°C; stick it in the fridge for 30 to 40 minutes.
As ever, be wary of over-chilling your beer. More chill means less flavour. To learn more read my post on recommended serving temperatures.
Flavours to expect
Dunkels are dark, malt-led lagers with smooth rich flavours. They often have toasted bread-crust flavours, along with nuts and caramel. There can even be a malty-chocolatey character. Hops bitterness is usually restrained. The brewers say this one has a flavour profile of spice, espresso, dark chocolate, molasses and walnut.
Food pairings
Sausages of course! This is a German beer style after all. Also roasted vegetables, washed-rind Munster cheese or some Jamaica ginger cake. It might be worth giving Maltesers a go too.
