Unity Brewing Co, Congregrate Belgian Pale

First published in March 2018.

I was approached by Matt from BeerBods to write a profile of Jimmy Hatherley at Unity Brewing Co.

He began buying local craft beers for the off-licences he managed, just as the London craft beer scene was taking off, but what he really wanted was to work in a brewery. “For anyone getting into the industry, the romance is brewing. Everyone loves the idea of making something.”

The write up was sent out to customers of their beer subscription service.

Congregate, this week’s beer, is a hoppy little session blond ale. It started life as a table beer – cheap, low in ABV, easy drinking and good with food – but to many drinkers that term means session IPAs such as the Kernel’s.
