In my first piece for Pellicle Magazine, I profiled Andrew Nielsen, the winemaker behind Le Grappin. We talked about his work rediscovering lost wines and brining them back to life, plus his love of fermentation that led to an interest in beer, cheese and barrels.
With Andrew’s ties to the beer world, it was perhaps inevitable that he would sell barrels to brewers. “I just saw the state of the barrels that brewers were able to get their hands on and I thought oh my God, I wouldn’t put beer in that,” he tells me.
