Omnipollo, Noa Hazelnut Cupcake

Imperial Stout, 11% ABV

Stouts are never really black. Even the strongest imperial stout held up to the light will show itself to be deepest ruby or garnet. So Noa must be something else. Delicious printer ink perhaps, or a liquid black hole sucking in light but sending out intense aromas of hazelnut and chocolate with red fruit lurking just behind. It’s full bodied, indulgent, and deeply boozy; expect a warm throat and sticky lips. The grown-up Nutella taste doesn’t develop further, and the hazelnut can dominate a little. It’s good, but had there been more depth I’d have liked it even more.
