Here’s your cheat sheet for Sofa Surfer by Mobberley Brew House. I hadn’t heard of Mobberley or Shindigger before this beer, so I’m intrigued to see how it turns out. It’s always fun to taste something from a new brewery.

Flavours to expect
New England IPAs are known for their smooth body and tropical citrus fruit-juice flavours. Usually the bitterness is quite restrained, although in this one I think it’s going to be a little more pronounced. The hops used are:
- Citra: mango, tropical fruit, lime
- Ekuanot: citrus, tropical fruit, herbal
- Vic Secret: fruity, herbal, piney
This ought to have a fairly robust flavour to it, which means you can look for stronger foods to put it up against. IF there’s a bitter backbone so much the better. Give it something with some sweetness and aromatic spice to go up against. Perhaps sticky BBQ ribs or chicken wings and some blue cheese sauce on the side.
