Dual Runnings

Dual Runnings

I tried two beers made from the same wort: Dual Runnings by the Kernel and Partizan. The quadrupel (Partizan) won it for me. It had marzipan and dates on the nose, and was boozy and fruity with caramel and big malt notes. I wonder whether I had mistreated the Kernel saison somehow as it was pretty lifeless. Too many temperature shifts maybe? I did try them blended but to be honest, with the saison as it was, this was never going to be anything other than meh. It was interesting though to note the similar characteristics running through both beers.
