Serving temperature
Serve this beer between 7°C and 10°C; stick it in the fridge for about an hour.
As ever, be wary of over-chilling your beer. More chill means less flavour. To learn more read my post on recommended serving temperatures.
Flavours to expect
Porters are great, I love how they’re dark but not heavy. Sometimes they’re rich and fruity, like an autumnal forest. Sometimes they’re full of coffee and smoke. Sometimes it’s chocolate. The brewers describe this one as a smooth, well-balanced porter with subtly smokey undertones. Sounds good to me!
Food pairings
Generally speaking porters will be good with roasted or smoked food. Roasts, barbecue, all that good stuff. Charred vegetables, too. Or for something sweeter try anything that combines chocolate and peanut butter, like a Reese’s Chocolate Cup. Or even a Bounty if chocolate and coconut are your thing. Semisweet or bittersweet chocolate work best. And for cheese, try Gruyère.
