Here’s a proposal that I’ve been working on for #tryanuary that I think could be a lot of fun. We are encouraging local breweries to nominate one of their beers to feature in a selection of 12 South London Tryanuary beers. These could be new releases or special seasonal beers, or perhaps even something brewed especially for the campaign. Once we have our 12 beers, local bottle shops can stock them together on a dedicated shelf, with some Tryanuary branding if possible. The breweries and bottle shops could potentially sell the beers together as a mixed case online as well.
On each Saturday during January we will taste three of our 12 beers. As we taste we will discuss them together on Twitter using the #tryanuary hashtag. We would like participating breweries to supply us with images (bottle shots, label art), tasting notes, and food pairing ideas if they have any. In the week preceding the Saturday tastings we will use these to promote the beers. And it’s not just for the off-trade. We will also encourage local pubs, bars, and restaurants to stock the three selected beers each weekend so that thirsty South Londoners can seek them out.
Finally, we will produce a Tryanuary checklist PDF that customers can download from the Tryanuary website or pick up at participating venues. This will give information on all the beers and where to find them.
